The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has started inviting applications for admission to the course of Bachelor of Design (B.Des) offered to candidates with J&K and Ladakh domicile. All aspirants of the state who are interested in securing admission in the B.Des course at NIFT Srinagar will have to appear for the NIFT Entrance Exam scheduled to be conducted on September 20, 2020 at the campus of the design school.

For NIFT J&K admissions 2020, candidates are required to appear for the NIFT Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the NIFT General Ability Test (GAT) on the same day, i.e, on September 20, 2020. NIFT J&K Admissions Eligibility Criteria 2020

The eligibility criteria for NIFT admissions 2020 for J&K students have been given below. The candidates who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria can apply for admission at NIFT under the J&K domicile category.

  • The student must have completed class 12 in the 10+2 pattern from any recognised central or state board of education, like the CBSE, the ISC, etc.
  • The candidates who have cleared the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (Cambridge/ London/ Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level or International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible to apply.
  • Those who have studied at any public school/ university/ board in India or in foreign countries which has been recognised by the Association of Indian Universities to be equivalent to the 10+2 system can also apply.
  • The students who have studied under the National Open School must have cleared their Senior Secondary School Examination with at least five subjects.
  • Candidates who possess a diploma of three or four years which is recognised by the AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education will also be considered eligible.
  • The age of the applicant should be 23 years as on August 1, 2020. A relaxation of five years in age is given to the students of SC/ ST and PwD categories.
